Info
4 Bratwurst sausages
1 red onion, cut into slices
50 gr. sunflower oil
½ cup of water in which we dissolve ½ vegetable broth cube
Salt and pepper
1. With a fork, make a few holes on each side of each bratwurst sausage.
2. In a cast iron pan, heat the oil over high heat. Place the bratwurst sausages in the pan and then place the onions around them. Stir the onions to spread them and cover them with oil. Cook the bratwurst sausages for about 4 minutes per side.
3. Carefully add the water with the broth into the pan and then cover the pan with a lid. Lower the heat to medium-low. Cook the bratwurst sausages covered for about 10 minutes.
4. When the time is up, remove the bratwurst sausages from the pan. Season the onions with salt and pepper and continue cooking for a few more minutes to reduce the liquid in the pan.
5. Serve the bratwurst sausages with onions, white bread, mustard, pickles and an ice cold beer.
