Scones with 4 cheeses by Athena Loizidou

Recipe ingredients

For 8 scones:

300 gr. flour for all uses

1 egg

40 gr. sugar

15 gr. baking powder

35 gr. butter, cut into pieces, at room temperature

115 ml of milk

1 teaspoon thyme

100 gr. (1/2 package) grated 4 cheeses

1 beaten egg to spread the scones

Recipe Directions

1. In a bowl, add the flour, the egg, the sugar, the baking powder, the butter, the milk and the thyme. Mix well until we have a dough. Add the cheeses and knead together carefully to incorporate them into the dough.

2. Spread flour on the kitchen counter and open the dough into a 3 cm thick piece. Using a cutter, cut the dough into round pieces 5 cm each in diameter. Place them in a non-stick pan.

3. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Spread the scones with the beaten egg. Put them in the oven for 12-15 minutes. Leave them to cool and serve them hot.
